A frequency mixer is a non-linear device allowing to transform two input signals of given frequency to a third signal of a frequency equal to the sum and/or the difference of the input frequencies.

The double sideband mixer

The double sideband mixer is a common mixer architecture. It contains both upper and lower sidebands of the mixing process at the output of the mixer.

The Image rejection mixer

The Image rejection mixer (also called signle side band mixer) is a typical and widely spread achritecture allowing to remove one of the two major mixer products from the output of the mixing or multiplication process and so to use only the upper side band (USB) or the lower side band (LSB).
