A radiometer is a highly sensitive measuring instrument capable of detecting electromagnetic radiation emitted by any body according to the theory of black body. MC2 has developed several highly sensitive radiometer architectures. Electromagnetic waves to microwave frequencies (300MHz-300GHz) have the particularity to be weakly attenuated by most materials. This property makes possible the detection of waves through the material for applications such as security systems to detect hidden objects, drugs, weapons. Furthermore electromagnetic radiation is mainly governed by the theory of black body, so the temperature of the body. Therefore temperature measurement at remote distance with radiometers is possible. This type of radiometer is used in industrial environment such as controlling temperature in the freezing chain. Finally, the radiometers are also used for medical applications, primarily the detection of tumors. Indeed a tumor is generally more vascularized than an area of healthy tissue surrounding the tumor. Therefore a tumor is generally warmer. MC2-Technologies is continously improving its technology to meet the requirement in areas like:

We are developing innovative microwave devices in clean room based at IEMN laboratory (1500 sqr meters) with one cutting edge material in terms of clean room process such as ebeam lithography, dry and wet etching, ALD deposition... In addition we invested in our own equipment allowing complete microwave system processing like wirebonding, laser cutting, via hole process and so on. Below a short list of already developed systems:
